Weekly Pool Maintenance
Spend more time enjoying your pool and less time taking care of it. Firehouse Pools provides dependable weekly maintenance to help keep your water clean and balanced and your equipment operating properly. Our technicians follow a consistent service routine, with additional attention based on your pool’s condition and maintenance package.
What We Do Each Week
- Test and adjust water chemistry: Check water clarity, temperature, pH, alkalinity, sanitizer, and stabilizer levels, then make chemical adjustments based on the results. Chemicals are billed separately.
- Remove surface debris and empty baskets: Skim the water’s surface and clean the skimmer and pump baskets.
- Check equipment and circulation: Check filter pressure, pool water level, and flow through the return jets. Address minor issues when appropriate and identify concerns that need additional repair work.
- Care for your cover and property: When an automatic cover is present, remove standing water before opening it, handle it carefully during service, and return the cover and cover pump to their proper positions afterward. Additionally, keep gates secured and remain mindful of pets.
- Document the visit: Record water-test results, chemical additions, and service notes, along with a photo of the pool, to help track its condition from week to week.
Scheduled and As-Needed Maintenance
Some tasks are performed periodically rather than at every weekly visit. We brush pool surfaces as needed, with brushing completed at least once per month, and backwash and rinse sand filters when filter pressure indicates cleaning is needed.
Additional water testing—including calcium hardness, salt or total dissolved solids, and phosphates—is performed at least monthly. Salt-cell inspection and cleaning and cartridge-filter cleaning follow a two-month schedule, with earlier attention when pressure or performance indicates a problem. Salt-cell and cartridge-filter cleaning are billed separately.
Vacuuming Options
Pool vacuuming is included in our upgraded maintenance package. Customers on other plans may request vacuuming for an additional charge.
